Position Overview

The primary functions of the Maintenance Manager are managing all the maintenance processes in a safe and efficient way to deliver the highest customer service value to the internal customer through equipment availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Service Delivery (80%)

  • Develop or improve the Preventive Maintenance process by identifying the critical equipment, selecting the right inspection method and frequency. Review and identify opportunities for improvements when required.
  • Able to perform vendor and contractor quality and cost analysis.
  • Develop or improve the maintenance spare parts system.
  • Develop or improve the Planning and Scheduling maintenance process by selecting all the equipment that is required to be under this process optimizing maintenance cost.
  • Develop RCAs for all Safety, Quality, and production related issues in his department.
  • Part of the responsibility is dedicating time to training employees in all the production SOPs.
  • Audit SOP to ensure employee training and process improvement.
  • Ensure all safety inspections, CAPAs and RCAs are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Develop or improve the lubrication system of the equipment for the plant. Develop the correct routes.
  • Perform equipment diagnosis for both electrical & mechanical issues.
  • Must have an understanding and experience in all phases of 110–480-volt system with higher voltage experience preferred.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they become major issues.
  • Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repair/replace worn or defective parts.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems and install wiring systems for power and control.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and repair ac/dc motors, starters, relays, and drives.
  • Welding and machining experience.
  • Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints, and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
  • Identify root causes of equipment problems.

Continuous Process Improvement (10%)

  • Maintain SLAs and build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Drive improvement in clarity of process flows and measurement across the organization

Collaboration and Research (10%)

  • Collaborate with corporate functions across the board to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented
  • Collaborate with data owners/stewards to align on process and data issues
  • Respond to questions and follow up on pertinent escalations

Requirements:

Physical Requirements

  • Ability and tolerance to frequently lift and move heavy objects, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently tolerate repetitive movement including sitting, standing, balancing, climbing, walking, twisting, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Exposure to working outside in extreme weather conditions; cold in the winter and extreme heat in the summer.
  • Tolerance to moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to talk, hear, read, and understand verbal and written communications and carry out job tasks safely around heavy rolling equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills to handle and manipulate materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial experience, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility.
