About This Position
Job Summary –
In this role you will independently design and develop mechanical prototype schematics for control products with a focus on the semiconductor market. You will apply a broad understanding of customer and regulatory requirements to create innovative solutions and contribute to strategic product development.
Essential Functions –
• Independently lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production
• Develop and maintain CAD models and drawings
• Build and test prototypes; troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues
• Translate customer and regulatory requirements into robust mechanical designs
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
• Contribute ideas for future product development
• Attend company meetings and present technical concepts
• Document Management
• Change control management
Minimum Qualifications – Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. List any certifications, degrees that are required. Qualifications must be consistent with job description.
• 3 years experience with SolidWorks
• Experience with DFM
• Proficiency with GD&T
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to build prototypes and general adeptness with hand tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and materials science
• Project ownership
• Ability to work with electrical and firmware teams
• Communication skills
• Ability to operate in fast-paced R&D settings
Desired Experience – Desired/preferred experience/education/training.
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
· 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical role.
Specific Requirements
• Experience with sensors and instrumentation used in semiconductor process equipment (e.g., manometers, temperature control systems, industrial communication protocols).
• Experience with heater design
• Familiarity with semiconductor processes such as etch, chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition a plus.
Special Working Conditions (if required) Examples: evening/weekend hours, travel, etc.
· This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours determined by supervisor.
· Travel required (approximately <10%), including international destinations.
