Interim Kitchen Cook Needed for a small regional day school in Vineland, Cumberland County NJ!

The temporary cook will: provide breakfast and lunch (2 lunch periods) daily for students according to the program's regulations; complete some necessary paperwork; work with a team of staff.

Hours: M-F, approximately 7am-2:00pm

Job Description:

We are looking for a temporary part time Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some cooking experience in a school and/or restaurant setting, Servsafe certification a plus but not mandatory, must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and possess strong attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic.

*Super hours for those who need to get their kids from the bus stop on time, have an evening job, and/or at school in the evenings*

Job Type: Part-time, Temporary, no benefits

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

Monday to Friday

Experience: Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Prepare breakfast and lunch for students according to the calendar’s menu.

• Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation, including inventory sheets, cleaning schedules, and compliance forms in accordance with food safety regulations and company policy.
• Cleaning all dishes, workstations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients for subsequent use.
• Following food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and food-borne illnesses.
• Sweeping, mopping floors, and emptying trash as required.
• Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.
• Assisting with the monitoring of inventory.
• Reporting all damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager.
• Additional duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of food service experience.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety procedures.
