Job Summary: The Part-time Seasonal Student Services Host will assist with retail operations, assist with giveaway inventory, and act as program host for Wheelhouse East, Inc. driving programs. Hours would primarily be in the afternoon/evening, 2PM-7PM, approximately 15-20 hours per week. This person will also be closely involved in creating an exceptional guest experience. They will champion the company’s mission and vision while modeling the company’s values.

Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with guest check-in happening during scheduled shifts (evening reception dinners)
  • Maintain a neat, and organized front-of-house environment
  • Perform set up and teardown of internal spaces used for company driving programs
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing driving safety gear, including race suits and helmets
  • Stock and maintain food and beverage locations for daily program use
  • Assist with retail sales and inventory management (stocking, organizing, shipping)
  • Prepare student awards and manage giveaway inventory
  • Protect the moral, legal, and financial well-being of the company
  • Continually work with other team members to find new and better ways of doing business with an emphasis on safety, accountability, leadership, and guest service
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills You Possess:

  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office and CRM Software
  • Experience with retail point of sale system
  • Ability to interact well with customers and fellow employees
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner
  • Ability to use creative thinking in all situations
  • Must be able to make quick, sound decisions that match the company’s values and standards
  • Experience driving a manual transmission a plus

  • Adhere to an event-driven schedule, primarily Monday-Friday with occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Professionally represent the company in the community, industry organizations, and during events
  • Use proper and professional language in the workplace, when interfacing with guests or potential clients and when representing the company in an official capacity
  • Show respect for others and maintain a positive attitude
  • Maintain current valid driver’s license, clean driving record, pass a background and drug screening

Physical Demands:

  • Often required to work long hours when needed, or as business requires (including holidays, nights and weekends)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to work on feet for long periods, and in inclement weather
  • Moderate levels of stress may be associated with this position

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate in English
