Position:

Parametric Solutions Inc. currently has an opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician to join our Engineering Instrumentation team in Jupiter, FL office. We offer competitive compensation and benefits package.

Job Summary:

Instrumentation Technicians are primarily responsible for installing temperature, strain, vibration and pressure measuring sensors on experimental and developmental gas turbine engine components, under the direction of an Instrumentation Engineer. This includes the precise placement and application of sensors according to technical drawings to be provided, testing and troubleshooting components, completion of associated Quality Assurance worksheets, and some special projects like probe assembly and braze preparation.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings that describe sensor placement.
  • Apply strain gauges, thermocouples, and small diameter pressure tubes to gas turbine engine components using approved methods, processes, and tools.
  • Assist in the maintenance of sensor materials inventory and alert management of need to re-stock as necessary.
  • Install industry-standard sensor termination connectors such as Marlin, LEMO, Amphenol, BNC, and Micro-dot, and RJ-50 connectors as specified.
  • Use various forms of precision instruments to assure compliance with exacting requirements regarding senor type and placement.
  • Assist instrumentation engineers in connecting sensors to data acquisition systems.
  • Stay current and proficient with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs
  • Comply with all PSI Safety Procedures
  • Assist in general shop cleaning as required to maintain aerospace cleanliness standards
  • Perform other tasks as directed and within skills and abilities.

Requirements (Education & Experience):

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • High School diploma required, AA degree in engineering technology, or related field preferred.
  • Must have prior experience in sensor application from aerospace, oil and gas, automotive or environmental monitoring industries.
  • Ability to use precise measuring devices and tools such as micrometer, calipers, and multi-meters.
  • Ability to read technical schematics/drawings and translate into actual part locations.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work as a team member, be self-motivated and responsible to work with little direction to perform assigned duties.
  • Microsoft Office Products – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to multi-task as required.
