About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our internal corporate finance operations. In this role, you will work closely with the finance team to assist with core accounting functions and financial administrative support.
Key responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, supporting payroll preparation, maintaining accurate up-to-date ledger accounts, assisting with job cost accounting, preparing project financial reports, and contributing to monthly financial status reporting. The position will also support general operational tasks such as maintaining action item trackers, organizing financial data, and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.
The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Prior experience in government contracting or Department of Defense–related industries is a plus but not required. A minimum of two years of professional experience in corporate finance or accounting is preferred, along with an eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic operations focused environment. We are seeking candidates who are proactive, reliable, and able to begin contributing immediately.
Responsibilities include:
· Perform account reconciliations and conduct account balance analysis to ensure financial accuracy.
· Support months end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and preparation of financial documentation.
· Assist with project financial tracking, cost analysis, and consolidation of labor and budget inputs from project managers.
· Track contract financials, prepared summary briefs, and supported basic contract analysis.
· Extract and analyze financial and operational data from internal systems; compile information into spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
· Maintain action item tracking with consistent follow-up
· Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook daily for analysis, reporting, and communication.
· Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent organizational skills in all financial responsibilities.

Desired Skills and Experience
Applicants must demonstrate clear and effective communication, work well in a team environment, perform under pressure, and learn new processes, software, and systems quickly. MS Office and Unanet ERP are used on a daily basis, so existing and demonstrated experience is preferred. Experience in Unanet ERP software a plus. Qualification Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field from an Accredited College or University
· Proficiency using MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
· Experience using Unanet ERP software a plus
