SUMMARY:
Material Coordinator provides comprehensive material management support within NUWCDIVNPT warehouses and satellite locations. This position is responsible for coordinating material movement, executing warehouse transactions in Navy ERP, supporting re-warehousing, kitting, and physical inventory operations, and ensuring proper documentation and accountability of Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) and Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) material. Duties span receiving, storage, issuing, shelf-life management, and preparation of materials for delivery in accordance with Navy, DoD, and NAVSEA requirements. The role requires attention to detail, ERP proficiency, and adherence to strict material handling, security, packaging, and inventory protocols, particularly when working with hazardous, classified, sensitive, shelf-life, and SUBSAFE/Level I/DSS-SOC materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in receiving operations by validating material counts, part numbers, and packaging conditions against Navy ERP records and required documentation (DD-250, DD-1348, WMFs).
Record custody of frustrated/unidentified material and route to designated locations as required.
Maintain receiving logs and help establish complete material files, including packing slips, correspondence, and modifications provided by the Government.
Store material in accordance with Government location schema, ensuring proper segregation, protection from damage, and adherence to loss-prevention requirements.
Perform warehouse maintenance functions including re-warehousing, rotating supplies, replacing fallen stock, shelf-life checks, and upkeep of temporary storage records.
Support kitting operations by assembling items using Government-provided lists.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, orderliness, and compliance with COSIS procedures throughout the warehouse.
Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other MHE (up to 36,000 lbs) in accordance with OSHA, NAVSUP P-538, and inspection protocols.
Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections, report discrepancies, and cease operation until cleared by the Government Lead.
Execute re-warehousing tasks using WMFs, ensuring stock record accountability and accurate ERP updates.
Conduct visual inspection of packaging when relocating materials and verify new storage assignments.
Track Type I and II shelf-life materials in Navy ERP, verify expiration data, and coordinate disposition processing when directed by the Government.
Assist with scheduled and ad-hoc inventories; generate and use ERP count sheets.
Label inventory items, compare results to APSR records (Navy ERP), and support preparation and upload of LX17 inventory documentation.
Pull, stage, and process materials for issue using WMFs and execute ERP transactions accurately.
Inform the Government Lead of delivery issues, workload limitations, or stock discrepancies.
Support preservation, packaging, packing, and marking tasks in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129.
Apply special handling instructions for classified, pilferable, hazardous, or sensitive material, and identify packaging that is unfit for transport.
Support customer inquiries regarding material status, location, and documentation.
Help research shipment status using Navy ERP and other logistic tools, identify causes of discrepancies, and contribute to lessons-learned reporting.
Use proper PPE and follow NUWCDIVNPT safety, security, and CUI handling requirements.
Support SUBSAFE/Level I/DSS-SOC compliance when handling designated materials.

This position supports the DOD on a federal installation, and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.

Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential :
Demonstrated warehouse, material handling, or supply support experience aligned with tasks in PWS 4.14.7 (receiving, storage, COSIS, issuing, physical inventory, PPP&M).
Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems, preferably Navy ERP (SAP) , for material receipt, issue, transfers, and inventory updates.
Experience operating MHE (pallet jacks, forklifts) and conducting equipment inspections.
Ability to obtain/maintain required OSHA-compliant MHE/forklift certifications
Preferred :
High School Diploma

Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is generally performed in an office environment which requires sitting or standing and working on a
computer for long periods of time . Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods oftime. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating through extended periods of high stress. If applicable th e employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to70 pounds. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard. Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear or other safety gear as appropriate
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed in an office and warehouse environment with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.
