Garden Center Plant Care Associate in Media, Pennsylvania at Linvilla Orchards Inc

Job Summary

We’re seeking a passionate and friendly Garden Center Associate to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for caring for plants, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring the garden center stays visually appealing. You will assist customers in choosing plants, tools, soil, fertilizers, and other gardening products to meet their needs.

Qualifications

· Experience in customer service.

· Solid understanding of various plants (annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs), flowers, and gardening supplies.

· Passion for gardening

· Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions.

General Responsibilities

· Daily Plant Care: Water, prune, deadhead, and fertilize plants according to their specific care needs.

· Assist customers with plant care questions, providing expert advice on how to care for plants at home, and help troubleshoot plant issues they may be experiencing.

· Maintain and improve plant displays by organizing them by plant type or care requirements, ensuring they are visually appealing and easy to navigate.

· Assist in unloading and pricing plant deliveries.

· Restock shelves and displays with plants, soil, pots and other gardening supplies.

· Assist with planting, weeding and mulching the grounds as needed.

· Maintain a clean work area

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, and moving items.

· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

· Must be able to push, pull, bend, lift, stretch, and climb in order to care for plants and arrange inventory.

· Work occurs in a greenhouse and/or outdoor setting with exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions.
