About This Position
Job Summary: The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist will be responsible for facilitating and obtaining physician documentation for clinical conditions and procedures to support the appropriate severity of illness, expected risk of mortality and complexity of care of each inpatient. The achievement of this will be through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, coding staff and other members of the health care team and review of all clinical data in the health care record.
Reports to: Manager CDIS
- Opportunity to work remote
Minimum Qualifications:
- RN with at least 2 years acute care experience (eg. Medical-surgical, Critical Care, Case Management)
Success Factors:
- Ability to build effective working relationships with Physicians and other members of the health care team.,
- Excellent Clinical Background
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong MS office skills
- Knowledge of coding and MS Drg’s, ICD9
