Machine Operator - 2nd shift at Cameron s Coffee and Distribution Co – Shakopee, Minnesota

Cameron's Coffee currently has an opening for a Machine Operator on 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:00pm Monday-Friday)

Essential Functions

• Informs appropriate manufacturing employees and supervisor of machine performance irregularities to minimize the impact of production downtime.
• Minimizes production scrap, including materials and coffee product.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment. Operates packaging equipment with safety guards and switches in place, and follows all safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Monitors and documents package quality using analytical tools.
• Ensures that package appearance, labeling, seals, case and pallet configurations comply with product specifications and quality standards.
• Participates in process improvement activities. Maintains scheduled throughput to meet team goals for reliability and budget standards. Maintain the line by ensuring all daily and weekly PM’s and sanitation are completed.
• Willingness to champion other activities as requested by operations, engineers and Cameron’s leaders.
• Employees are responsible for maintaining an awareness of workplace safety and maintaining an awareness of training or education that will assist them in improving needed areas of their present job performance
• Giving and providing guidance to downstream packaging personnel.
• Ensure that the product meets all SQF, GMP, and HACCP standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 25+ lbs.
• Stand for 6+ hours, 5 days a week.
• Basic technical aptitude and/or willingness to learn equipment details
• Previous machine operating experience preferred
• Previous experience in food manufacturing strongly preferred
• Experience working with warehouse management systems or ERP preferred

Work Environment

• The noise level is high. Ear protection is provided.
• Protective toe foot protection is required.
