Location: Remote, with regular travel to Austin, TX and hospitals as needed

As Vice President of Strategy and Operations – Value Creation, you will lead enterprise-level transformation initiatives that drive operational excellence, growth, and profitability across our national network of veterinary hospitals. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you'll identify and address underperformance, create high-impact solutions, and ensure the success of both hospital-level and enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
This role is ideal for someone with strong consulting or strategic operations experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about building something better for patients, clients, and teams.
What You'll DoHospital Optimization & Turnaround- Conduct quarterly assessments to identify hospitals with improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement tailored, data-driven turnaround plans with clear milestones
- Partner with Operations, Finance, People Operations, and Marketing to ensure success
- Track project progress using our Project Management Office (PMO) framework
- Lead or support company-wide projects on behalf of executive leadership (CEO/COO/VP)
- Drive strategic initiatives, pilot programs, and cross-functional efforts from planning through execution
- Analyze internal and external data to support decision-making at the executive level
- Act as a thought partner to leadership on opportunities, challenges, and market dynamics
- Use financial modeling, benchmarking, and analytics to identify growth and efficiency opportunities
- Develop tools, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor performance and drive accountability
- Conduct market and competitor research to guide investment and strategic planning
- Design scalable templates, frameworks, and best practices across hospitals
- Track and report operational and financial outcomes across the organization
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience:
- 10+ years in healthcare, consulting, veterinary, or multi-site operations
- Background in performance improvement, financial analysis, and operational transformation
- Experience with PMO leadership and change management in matrixed environments
- Previous consulting or private equity value creation experience is highly desirable
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and project management abilities
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in EBITDA-focused analysis, financial modeling, and performance tools
- Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
