Medical Technologist 2 - Lab-Core at Lima Memorial Health System – Lima, Ohio

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Medical Technologist obtains laboratory specimens and performs routine or special laboratory tests with a minimal amount of supervision. Performs complex, non-standardized procedures and develops new methods of analysis. Prepares slides for microscopic and other analysis as necessary. Ensures the Laboratory is in compliance with regard to patient test management by having in place an adequate system to report results in a timely, accurate, reliable and confidential manner, and ensures patient confidentiality throughout those parts of the total testing process that are under the Laboratory’s control.

Education:Baccalaureate degree with M.T. (MLS) or equivalent certificationfrom ASCP (BOC). Education, training, and experience necessary under CLIA88 testing personnel standards.

Licensure/Certification: MT (ASCP) preferred, or MT (ASCP) required to obtain within one year of hire.

Experience: One year of experience in a health system laboratory of similar size and scope is preferred.

Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
