Furniture Assembler Lead at Quality & Company Inc. – Maple, Ontario

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, this candidate will oversee the assembly portion of our process. As a Furniture Assembler, you will follow a weekly schedule ensuring items are assembled in a timely manner to ensure we meet deadlines. This candidate is focused on quality, with exemplary attention to detail. You possess the ability to communicate well, and to lead with autonomy.

An understanding of seating and furniture assembly is required.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble wooden furniture and fixture parts made of different materials using hand and power tools
• Reinforce and work with assembled furniture pieces with dowels or other supports
• Install hardware such as castors, glides, caps, joint connectors, lighting components, switches, etc
• Installation of legs, sleeping mechanisms, metal frames, and furniture bases made of different materials
• Keep WIP areas tidy, and store items in an appropriate manner to minimize damage
• Keep record of completed jobs and accurate counts for reporting purposes
• Lead a team of assemblers and follow weekly schedule
• Monitor inventory and order replenishments as needed
• Quality inspect completed assembled pieces

Skills and Qualifications:

• Understanding of cutting and trimming elements for accessories as needed
• Knowledge of how to read drawings and blueprints
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Experience with the use of lift trucks, push and pull mechanisms, ladders, and material handling
• Ability to lead a team and problem solve

Experience Required:

• Furniture and seating assembly knowledge is required
• Working in a manufacturing setting is required
