Job Description:

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Contracts Specialist to support the day-to-day administration of federal government contracts for a small government contracting business. This role focuses on contract execution, compliance support, and system accuracy across the full contract lifecycle, operating under established processes and management direction.

This position is ideal for early-career or developing contracting professionals who are detail oriented, dependable, and interested in building hands-on experience in government contracting. This role does not include independent contract negotiation authority services.

Duties:

Contract Administration Support:
  • Support the end-to-end administration of contracts, from pre-award setup through post-award administration and closeout, under management guidance
  • Prepare, process, and maintain nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, prime contracts, and subcontracts using approved templates
  • Track and maintain contract documentation, modifications, funding, and periods of performance in Unanet
  • Ensure contract files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready

Compliance and Requirements Tracking:
  • Track FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific clauses, including required flowdowns, and escalate questions or issues to management
  • Support reviews of Government RFPs by identifying compliance requirements and contractual obligations
  • Assist with ensuring contract data in Unanet aligns with contract terms and internal systems

Program and Internal Coordination:
  • Support program management teams by tracking contract requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations
  • Assist Supply Chain and Subcontracts teams by ensuring subcontract documentation aligns with prime contract requirements
  • Support customization of subcontract templates under management direction when required

Contract Actions and Reporting:
  • Process contract actions such as modifications, funding updates, extensions, and task orders as directed
  • Support government, prime contractor, and internal data calls with accurate and timely information
  • Communicate contract-related issues clearly and escalate items requiring interpretation or approval
  • Work Management and Professional Conduct
  • Manage assigned workload independently, track deadlines, and proactively initiate tasks
  • Perform additional duties and special projects associated with this position as assigned
  • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and accountability in all contract-related activities

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Relevant experience, training, or professional certifications may substitute for formal education
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in government contracting or contract administration
  • Hands-on experience using Unanet (GovCon edition) or willingness to learn quickly
  • Basic understanding of contracts, compliance, or administrative processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow established procedures and escalate appropriately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Prior experience supporting a government contractor or federal program
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, or contract flowdowns
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or data calls

Working Environment:

Hybrid (Must report to Landover, Maryland, two days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.)

Salary Range: $62,400.00 - $70,720.00
