About This Position

Physical Therapy Aide

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: NON-PRIORITY RECRUITMENT

The Physical Therapy Aide is mainly responsible for cleaning booths/gym after each use, maintaining supplies, performing deep cleaning, preparing charges for data entry, filing, and assisting therapists with inpatients and outpatients.

Job Requirements
Knowledge of /Skill/Ability to: Employee must have a positive personality, adaptability, and flexibility, which is essential in maintaining a good working relationship within the hospital. The employee should demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with all types of patients having physical and/or emotional disability in a satisfactory manner. They must show at all times that he/she is capable and willing to carry out safely and efficiently all patient-related tasks that are assigned to him/her and to perform other tasks as may be delegated in the same manner. They must also be able to prioritize tasks independently with patient care coming first.

License/Certification: Current BLS certification required through American Heart Association

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age per Oregon Physical Therapist Licensing Board Standard 848-020-0010

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
  • Works inside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Subject to occasional stress in fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines. Must be capable of providing treatments, some of which will require strength. Aware of proper body mechanics at all times.
  • Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
  • Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs, and ambulates as necessary. Must have ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
