NATURE OF WORK

Verita Telecommunications is looking for a Diesel Mechanic with 2-3 years experience. The mechanic will work alongside a team of mechanics to maintain and repair the fleet.

REQUISITE SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and the vehicle systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
  • Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
  • Ability to read/understand wiring diagrams and other system schematics
  • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
  • Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficient in time management
  • Own a full set of mechanic’s tools to adequately perform repairs
  • Exercise safe, effective, and efficient work practices

Education / Certification:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Applicable ASE/State certifications preferred

Physical Requirements / Aptitude:

  • Able to move in different positions – crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted.
  • Works well with small hand and power tools.

Other:

  • Available to work nights and be on-call; willing to work overtime when required; to work in all-weather conditions.
  • Proficient in fabrication/welding preferred.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Follow goal-oriented repair processes.
