Job Title: Technical Subject Matter Expert

Department: Operations – Services

Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager

Location: Remote

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

FLSA Status: Hourly, Nonexempt

Clearance: Public Trust

Position Summary

The Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as advisor and analyst responsible for supporting the operations of the Electronic Health Record systems, programs, and clinical processes for EHRM-IO. The SME works with the Site Technical Liaison to plan, coordinate, and organize in-depth analyses, reviews, and evaluations of EHR programs, policies, and procedures from a technical perspective. The SME applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess complex program processes and systems. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, and oversees deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures, including computer hardware and software, operating systems, middleware, communications hardware and software, and security components.
  • Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures as they apply to the implementation and specification of complex information management solutions.
  • Identifies necessary interfaces between enterprise solution applications and legacy IT environments.
  • Supports all program/project planning and milestone development.
  • Supports business case analysis and identification of alternative solutions and resulting business impacts.
  • Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) to RavenTek Program Manager by deadline provided.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 70% of the year.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Ability to work both independently and under supervision.
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records.
  • Department of Veterans Affairs experience preferred.

Education & Work Experience

  • 5+ years of professional work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field is required.
  • An additional 8 years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

Special Requirements

  • Public Trust clearance.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in home office as well as shared office environments with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
