About Us

At Local Crafts, we’re here to help you love what you make.

We’re a team of passionate makers who value the hands-on process and the beauty of handmade things. Crafting connects us—to ourselves, to others, and to the world. It’s our way to unwind, create, give, and sometimes, get a little wild. It’s a mindful practice that pulls us away from screens and into creativity, conversation, and yes, even a bit of math.

With a team of employees across the U.S., we design and make most of what we sell—from knitting needles and yarns to printed fabric and thread—always with care and craft at the center. Every item is tested and loved by our team, and it is this collaboration that drives us to do better every day.

We’re home to a passionate community of knitters, crocheters, quilters and sewists who come to us for the highest-quality yarns, thoughtfully designed tools, and the inspiration to bring vision to life. With a product line found nowhere else, we’re building more than a store—we’re building a movement.

Now we’re looking for an Executive Assistant to the CEO who shares our love of craft and community, and who can bring the same care and creativity to supporting our leadership. This role is all about keeping things running smoothly, anticipating needs, and making sure our CEO has the time and space to focus on what matters most - growing our movement and our company.

What We’re Looking For
At a minimum, you bring proven experience supporting senior leaders with complex calendars, confidential communications, and high-level meeting coordination. You are highly organized, resourceful, and a trusted partner who keeps operations running smoothly.

What Would Make You Stand Out
You’re not just an assistant, but a strategic partner. You anticipate needs before they arise, build relationships with board members and external partners, and streamline executive workflows at scale. You bring insight and influence to the role, helping extend the CEO’s impact across the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Keep the CEO’s schedule, meetings, and priorities organized and on track.
  • Manage and prioritize communications with warmth, clarity, and discretion.
  • Coordinate travel and logistics that sometimes look like puzzle-solving (the fun kind).
  • Prepare agendas, notes, and follow-ups so meetings are actually useful.
  • Be a bridge between the CEO and staff, board members, and community.
  • Leverage AI productivity tools to streamline workflows, automate routine tasks, and find ways to do things more efficiently – by applying existing expertise or learning quickly on the job.
  • Pitch in on special projects and events where an extra set of steady hands makes all the difference.
  • Spot challenges before they become problems, and smooth out the bumps along the way.

Technology & AI

Were all about working smarter so we have more time for what matters most – creating! In this role, you’ll use technology to clear the clutter, spot what’s needed before it’s asked for, and keep things humming along. From productivity tools to communication platforms (and yes, even AI!), you’ll help manage information and make workflows feel seamless. If you’ve already played with AI tools, great! But if not, curiosity and a willingness to experiment are just as valuable. We love trying new things that make our work more efficient and our impact even bigger.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

We believe crafting is for everyone and so is working here. Creativity thrives when different voices, perspectives, and experiences come together. We welcome team members of all races, ethnicities, ages, religions, identities, orientations, abilities, and backgrounds.

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway. We know the best teams are built by people who bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love for what they do.

What You Bring

Must-haves (Proficient Skills):

  • 5+ years supporting senior leaders in busy, fast-moving environments.
  • Confidence with complex scheduling and calendar wrangling.
  • Clear, professional communication skills — both written and spoken.
  • A track record of handling sensitive information with absolute trust.
  • Travel planning superpowers (the more complex, the better).
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort juggling lots of priorities.
  • Fluency with everyday tools like Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint and Basecamp.

Bonus Points (Strategic Skills):

  • Experience as a true partner to a CEO or senior executive.
  • The ability to see around corners and anticipate needs before they’re spoken.
  • Comfort preparing board materials or investor communications.
  • Confidence engaging with board members, investors, and external partners.
  • A knack for finding ways to make systems and workflows more efficient.
  • The presence to represent the CEO’s voice and priorities at a leadership level.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on your location as well as the experience and the skills you bring.
    • Proficient-level experience falls toward the lower to mid-range.
    • Strategic-level experience may be considered at the upper range.
  • Eligibility for the company’s profitability bonus plan.
  • Multiple medical, dental and vision plan options with company contributions to the premium costs.
  • Healthcare Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Company-paid life, short- and long-term disability benefits
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match.
  • Generous Paid Time Off and holiday pay policies.
  • Employee Discounts as all Local Crafts companies.
  • The chance to grow with a company that values creativity, collaboration, and a love of craft.

Why You’ll Love It Here

This isn’t just a support role - it’s a chance to help shape and grow a movement. You’ll work side by side with the CEO and leadership team, making sure the heart of the business runs smoothly while being part of a company that celebrates creativity and connection every day.
