Job Description

Description:

Are you passionate about nurturing our youngest learners in a creative, play-based, and museum-inspired environment? Join the Miami Children’s Museum Early Childhood Institute as an Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year, and be part of a team that transforms everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences.

In this role, you will cultivate a warm, engaging, and joy-filled environment where infants and toddlers grow through exploration, connection, and wonder. As the Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher, you will oversee the care, supervision, and education of young children in a nurturing, safe, and responsive setting. Guided by the Reggio Emilia approach and Museum Education practices, you will create meaningful, developmentally appropriate experiences that support each child’s unique growth - if you believe in the power of play and early relationships, this is your moment!

What You'll Do

  • Ensure the safety, health, and emotional well-being of all children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Provide responsive caregiving, including diapering, feeding, comforting, and attending to personal care needs.
  • Plan and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Reggio Emilia, project-based learning, and play-based exploration.
  • Create a predictable yet flexible routine balancing active/quiet moments and individual/small-group experiences.
  • Support sensory exploration, movement, language development, and early social-emotional skills using hands-on materials and museum galleries.
  • Observe and document each child’s development using tools such as ASQ and daily observations; communicate progress with families and leadership.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to support emotional regulation and early social skills.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to maintain a warm, inclusive, and professional team environment.
  • Complete required annual training and follow all policies in the ECI and Museum handbooks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working with infants and/or toddlers.
  • CDA credential or completion of the 45 DCF hours required by Florida.
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work positively with children, families, and staff.
  • Patient, enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely passionate about early learning.
  • Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check (fingerprints) and drug screening.
