Forklift Driver at Athens Foods – Brook Park, Ohio

PURPOSE

The Forklift Driver plays a critical role in the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse or production environment. This position ensures that all products and materials are safely transported, organized, and prepared for shipping or production, contributing directly to operational efficiency and workplace safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

2. Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or production facility.

3. Inspect forklifts daily and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.

4. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and storage locations.

5. Assist with order picking, packing, and staging products for shipment or production.

6. Ensure warehouse aisles and work areas are clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

7. Report any accidents, safety incidents, or equipment malfunctions immediately.

8. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.

9. Complies with all Safety, GMP’s, and Food Safety Policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Shipping, receiving, or warehousing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

1. Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

2. Valid forklift operator certification (if required by state or company policy).

3. Strong attention to safety and detail.

4. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.

5. Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.

6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Certifications, Licenses, registrations

1. Tow Motor License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with UPS shipping system.

1. The majority of work is performed on the shipping and receiving dock or in freezers.
