Nurse Clinician (N3) for Quality
Summary: Under general supervision, an incumbent is focused on supporting multiple departments with performance improvement activities, including the development of quality metrics, data analysis and facilitation of corrective actions. There is also a component of chart analysis and chart abstraction and the need for good clinical judgment for reviewing records and determining a quality plan. Assists in providing for the management of patient care by means of clinical expertise gained in a specialized aspect of nursing care. Must have the ability to problem-solve, communicate with all staff and computer abilities. Supervision may be exercised over a small support staff.
License: Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the State of New York, to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience: Three years of professional nursing experience where the primary function of the position was nursing in a hospital or health care agency, two years of which must have been in the area of specialization.
Substitution: Satisfactory completion of 30 credits in a Bachelor’s of Master’s degree* in a nursing program may be substituted for one year of general nursing experience.
