Job overview:
- Make highly complex repairs as a Master Diesel Technician in Portland, OR.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical systems on our company trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Have a deep understanding of how to diagnose and repair problems involving the engine, after-treatment devices, fuel systems and other components.
- Use diagnostic software or other methods to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
- Solve complex repairs for which there may be no standard operating procedure or repair manual.
Skills and qualifications:
- Technical degree in diesel technology or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of diesel technician experience.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Truck certification.
- Thorough understanding of all truck systems and expertise in at least one of the following: engine, cab/chassis or drivetrain.
- Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
- Able to manage and prioritize work to meet equipment needs.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
