About This Position

Maintenance & Facilities Planner I

Position Summary
The Maintenance & Facilities Planner I is an entry-level role that supports the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance and facilities work in a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on managing work orders, maintaining CMMS accuracy, coordinating service requests, and supporting technicians to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Assist with planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Prepare work orders with defined scope, labor estimates, materials, and safety requirements
  • Track work order progress and support daily and weekly maintenance scheduling

CMMS Administration

  • Enter, update, and close work orders accurately in the CMMS
  • Maintain preventive maintenance tasks, asset records, and documentation
  • Generate basic reports on PM compliance, backlog, and work status

Facilities & Service Coordination

  • Receive and track building and facilities service requests
  • Coordinate cleaning, utilities, and general building maintenance activities
  • Communicate status updates to internal customers and ensure timely closure of requests

Materials & Vendor Support

  • Identify required materials and check availability for planned work
  • Assist with coordinating contractors and external service providers

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure work orders include appropriate safety procedures and permits
  • Follow company safety and lockout/tagout requirements
  • Support process improvements, shutdown planning, and facility projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or facilities-related associate degree preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, or operations
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office work and time on the manufacturing floor
  • Regular walking and standing to coordinate field activities
