This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity to oversee all accounting operations across a fast-growing, remote-first SaaS organization. The Controller will manage the company’s accounting team, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide clear and insightful reporting to executives, the board, and investors. This position plays a critical role in cross-departmental initiatives, financial system improvements, and strategic decision-making to support growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will combine deep accounting expertise with strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience in SaaS financial operations. You will also manage relationships with auditors, tax accountants, and other external stakeholders. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of guiding both people and processes in a dynamic environment.
- Oversee the accounting department and ensure accurate financial operations for the company and its subsidiaries
- Lead and manage audits, working closely with external auditors and tax accountants
- Prepare quarterly and ad hoc financial reports for the board, investors, and regulatory filings
- Implement and enhance financial systems, internal controls, and accounting processes to support scalable growth
- Provide insights and guidance on budgeting, profitability, ROI, and financial decision-making across departments
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and maintain financial integrity
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in accounting and/or auditing, including leadership experience managing a small team
- CPA certification required, with in-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards
- Experience in SaaS companies or providing accounting services to SaaS businesses
- Proven track record with financial reporting, system implementations, and audits
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to operate independently in a remote-first environment
