About This Position

Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant (Remote - WA, ID, OR, CA)

More than 135 years ago, we started with core values that never go out of style: listen, learn and help businesses and individuals reach their goals. These core values shape our culture, and we were recently Great Place to Work Certified because of our outstanding workplace culture and employee experience. As well, our financial strength and stability are key reasons Forbes named us one of the Best 100 Banks in America for the ninth consecutive year.

With more than $16 billion in assets and 135 branch locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California, we understand our role in the economy and take that responsibility seriously. In addition to offering a source of capital to personal banking clients and businesses of all sizes, we place a high importance on employee volunteerism and donate millions of dollars each year to community organizations.

As a Loan Officer Assistant, you play a critical role in helping borrowers move confidently through the mortgage process. You’ll partner closely with a high-producing Loan Officer and a wide network of partners to keep loan files organized, compliant, and moving forward on time. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast-paced work, building relationships, and being a key contributor to successful loan closings.
In this role you'll:
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication between the Loan Officer, borrowers, real estate agents, branch staff, insurance providers, closing agents, and outside vendors.
  • Manage loan pipelines, schedules, and critical deadlines to keep files progressing smoothly.
  • Run pipeline and closed-loan summary reports to support production tracking and performance.
  • Support mailings and marketing initiatives to help grow and maintain business relationships.
  • Follow up with borrowers to obtain missing documentation and required information.
  • Enter, maintain, and update loan application and client data within processing systems.
  • Pull credit reports at the direction of the Loan Officer and ensure proper handling of sensitive data.
  • Maintain working knowledge of loan programs, guidelines, and technology platforms.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support daily loan operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, security standards, and government regulations.
What we're looking for
  • You have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • You bring 4 or more years of experience in residential mortgage loan processing and/or underwriting, including conventional and government loans for both purchase and refinance transactions
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
What helps you shine
  • You have a proven track record of supporting consistent loan closings and funding in high-volume environments.
  • You understand mortgage origination processes, underwriting standards, and FNMA, FHLMC, and government guidelines.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings and can juggle multiple priorities with accuracy.
  • You can analyze borrower credit, income documentation, and complex loan structures to support productivity and volume.
  • You are comfortable using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and automated underwriting systems.
  • You bring strong analytical skills and a working knowledge of federal and state real estate lending regulations.
