Patient Collections Representative at Apex Spine and Neurosurgery LLC – Suwanee, Georgia

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Collections Representative to support our billing team. This role is responsible for managing self-pay patient balances, communicating with patients regarding outstanding accounts, and ensuring timely collections while maintaining a high level of professionalism and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact patients regarding outstanding balances via phone and/or written communication

• Explain account balances, statements, and payment options clearly and professionally

• Set up and monitor payment plans in accordance with practice policies

• Process payments and document all collection activity accurately in the system

• Review patient accounts for accuracy and follow up on unpaid or delinquent balances

• Collaborate with the billing team to resolve discrepancies or patient concerns

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and empathy

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Experience with EMR or billing systems (AthenaHealth preferred)

• Proficient in basic computer skills (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)

Schedule:

• Part-time position (2–3 days per week)
