Junior Data Center Engineer – Amsterdam, Netherlands - 12 month FTC contract initially

Role Overview
This is an entry-level opportunity designed for candidates with a technical background who are looking to start a career in the data center industry.
As a Junior Data Center Engineer, you will support the operation and maintenance of critical systems within the data center. You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to maintain high availability and reliability of essential infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems
- Support preventive maintenance tasks under supervision
- Help respond to basic system alarms and issues
- Participate in routine inspections of equipment and facilities
- Maintain clean and safe working environments in equipment rooms
- Assist with tracking and updating work orders and tickets
- Learn and follow operational procedures (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs)
- Support site walks and basic system checks
- Work with team members and contractors on daily tasks
- Assist with basic IT or customer-related requests when required
What We’re Looking For:
- Basic technical training or education (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or similar)
- Strong interest in data centers or critical infrastructure
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Good problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ticketing systems (a plus, not required)
- Good communication skills in English
Preferred (Not Required)
- Internship, apprenticeship, or hands-on experience in a technical field
- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems
- Exposure to environments such as facilities maintenance, or industrial settings
