Pines Village is recruiting for a Full Time Life Enrichment Assistant to work in both our Skilled and Assisted Living department leading and coordinating activities for our healthcare residents.

Schedule

Sunday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Wednesdday 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Thursday 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role:

The Life Enrichment Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in care settings by facilitating engaging and meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities. This position focuses on promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being through creative programming and personalized support. The assistant collaborates closely with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to assess needs and preferences, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible. By fostering a positive and supportive environment, the Life Enrichment Assistant helps to improve emotional health and overall satisfaction among participants. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to creating a vibrant community atmosphere that encourages personal growth and fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with elderly or special needs populations in a caregiving or activity coordination capacity.
  • Basic knowledge of recreational therapy principles and activity planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in recreational therapy or related field.
  • Experience with cognitive stimulation techniques and adaptive activity equipment.
  • Training in first aid and CPR.
  • Familiarity with cultural competency and inclusive programming.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents or clients.
  • Assist in assessing individual needs and preferences to tailor activities that promote engagement and well-being.
  • Support residents during activities, ensuring safety, participation, and enjoyment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and volunteers to coordinate and enhance program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, participation, and outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and report to supervisors.

The Life Enrichment Assistant utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage participants and coordinate with team members effectively. Organizational skills are essential for planning and executing diverse activities that meet individual needs and preferences. Empathy and patience are critical in supporting residents with varying abilities and ensuring a positive experience.
