About This Position

Description:

The Custodial Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and oversight to the Custodial team, ensuring public guest areas, facilities, and assigned spaces are cleaned, maintained, and presented with excellence, consistency, and attention to detail. This role supports Ridgecrest’s mission by creating clean, healthy, and welcoming environments that allow guests and team members to focus on ministry, community, and spiritual growth through Purposeful Hospitality.

Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise, train, and coach Custodial team members to ensure consistent cleaning standards and positive guest experiences.
  • Assign daily workloads and inspect completed work in public guest areas, restrooms, offices, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
  • Support team members in performing custodial tasks according to established schedules, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of custodial equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Oversee the safe operation and basic maintenance of custodial equipment, including floor care machines and carpet care equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of custodial supplies and equipment; report needs, shortages, or equipment concerns to the Guest Spaces Manager.
  • Address guest and departmental concerns related to cleanliness or service promptly, professionally, and with purposeful hospitality.
  • Provide hands-on support during high traffic or high-volume periods to ensure spaces are guest ready and well maintained.
  • Uphold safety practices, infection control standards, and proper chemical handling procedures.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage daily tasks and cleaning schedules.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on guest traffic, events, and operational needs.
  • Manage, monitor, and order department supplies, materials, equipment, and cleaning chemicals responsibly, ensuring proper inventory levels while operating within approved departmental budgets and Ridgecrest procurement guidelines.
  • Pleasant, tactful, courteous, and cooperative demeanor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous custodial, facilities, housekeeping, or hospitality experience required (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience operating floor care or custodial equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly and up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Operate heavy equipment and machinery, including floor care equipment.
  • Good body mobility with the ability to bend, stretch, kneel, twist, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor facility environments.
  • Work will include standing and walking on concrete or hard surfaces for extended periods.
