Approximately working from May to August, 2026

Working within the Assessment & Tax department and reporting to the Supervisor, Residential Assessment, the Summer Student will assist the Residential Assessment team in data review, data input, building permit drawings, field inspections, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also have potential exposure to other processes, as learning opportunities, such as utilizing CAMA software for inputting improvements into the assessment roll, working with the APEX Sketch software and exposure to all types of buildings in the County.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
  • A high-school Diploma with some post-secondary coursework in a related discipline.
  • Enrollment in the University of British Columbia Diploma Program in Urban Land Economics (DULE), Real Property Valuation, or equivalent.
  • General understanding of Assessment principles.
  • Some knowledge in assessment software, such as CAMAlot, and APEX Sketch drawing software would be an asset.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements:
  • Ability to primarily work in-person at Parkland County Centre – 53109A HWY 779, Parkland County, AB.
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory current driver’s abstract provided upon hire.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

A Starting Rate of: $25.82 to $29.01 per hour
