About the role
The Finance Director oversees accounting and finance operations for the organization. The successful applicant for this role will have an operational mindset, ensuring compliance with finance and accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Oversee and manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support the company's objectives and enhance financial performance
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to the Chief Financial Officer and senior management
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and operational plans
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by maintaining robust internal controls and audit processes
- Manage relationships with clients, external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions to ensure compliance and optimize financial operations
- Provide financial insights and support to various departments and projects, facilitating informed decision-making and resource allocation
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial practices remain current and competitive
The skills you bring
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- CPA or equivalent designation is strongly preferred
- 7+ years of relevant experience in finance/accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of accounting standards, principles, and practices, as well as tax and regulatory requirements
- Organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting timeliness
- Experience maximizing operational efficiency and delivering operational process improvements
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct, and advanced Excel
