About This Position
The Director of Operations – Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and optimizing the day-to-day operational functions of behavioral health programs. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care across all service lines. The Director serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and clinical teams to support growth, efficiency, and outstanding outcomes.
Responsibilities
Approximately 20 hours office work per week:
• Oversee Admissions/Discharge/Case Management Team (daily supervision, hiring, firing, evaluation, scheduling)
• Audit charts for admission and discharge compliance weekly
• Conduct staff training regarding rapport building, compliance and crisis deescalation
• Oversee ama/administrative discharge process
• Create Weekly Scheduled Discharge List in collaboration with relevant departments
• Coordinate patient care with medical, clinical, nursing departments
• Track and Report Numbers as directed by COO (length of stay, discharge types, incident trends, client experience)
Approximately 20 hours on the floor per week:
• Presence on the property to directly observe patients and behaviors
• Assist with correcting patients with problematic behaviors and creating a plan for success
• Assist with crisis deescalation, addressing patient grievances, and improving patient experience
Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree
- 3- 4 years in behavioral health
- Strong competency with excel, report writing, and experience with auditing
- Strong competency with addressing patient behaviors and rapport building
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead through change and growth
