About This Position

Description:

TRAK TECOM designs, builds, and delivers advanced RF electronic solutions and antenna systems for mission-critical performance across the aerospace and defense industry.

Our RF microwave and antenna solutions support Electronic Warfare (EW), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Radar, Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), Telemetry, Tracking, Command & Datalink, and Communications helping customers achieve reliability, resilience, and high performance in the harshest operating environments.

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality assurance efforts, ensuring products and processes meet standards, and driving continuous improvement. They design and implement quality control processes, conduct inspections, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. They also provide technical guidance and support for quality testing analysis and may work directly with a team of quality engineers.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures for inspecting products and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform inspections of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products to identify and address quality issues.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns in product quality or defects and develop strategies to mitigate and prevent future issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance overall product or process quality.
  • Work with product development, manufacturing, and other teams to address quality issues and implement solutions.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to other engineers and team members on quality-related matters.
  • Work direct and mentor a team of quality engineers, ensuring they are properly trained and supported.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive quality management system.
  • Verify that manufacturing processes and products comply with applicable federal, state, local, and industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead investigations of non-conformances and develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Serve as a quality representative on new product development teams, ensuring quality is integrated into the design and development process.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with product design, manufacturing processes, and software releases.
  • Perform review of contracts for compliance and generate quotes for proposals/quotes.

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experienced with use of technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing work instructions, inspection procedures, and configuration control of documents
  • Experienced with Configuration Control Board (CCB), review of ECOs, drawings, source control specifications, test plans & reports
  • Good working knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience creating, updating, reviewing, and releasing Quality Management Systems documents that meet ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 QMS requirements
  • Expert in leading investigation of non-conformances and continuous improvement techniques, e.g., RCCA, 8D, 5-Why, PFMEA
  • Experience with APQP / PPAP and associated documents (PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram, capability studies) preferred
  • Experienced in First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation IAW AS9102
  • Experience with a diverse set of manufacturing and assembly processes, e.g. PCB manufacturing, motors and encoders, conformal coating, IPC soldering, plating, painting, electro-mechanical assembly, test and inspection, preferred.
  • Experience with typical ERP business system software (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and other CRM tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, be a self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence

  • Strong data analysis skills used to identify trends and implement actions.

Experience: Minimum five (5) plus years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledgeable in ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 quality systems a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field; or equivalency experience.

Travel: 15%

Security: U.S. citizenship required. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a government security clearance.
