This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for building and scaling workforce planning capabilities within a large operational division. The Workforce Planning Director will own capacity planning, forecasting, and resource optimization, ensuring operational teams are equipped to meet customer demand efficiently. The role acts as a bridge between operations, finance, and product leadership, leveraging data to inform workforce strategy and drive scalable growth. This position involves designing processes and governance for workforce planning, analyzing trends, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership. You will develop forecasting models, monitor productivity, and optimize staffing across multiple environments, while shaping long-term workforce strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, data-driven environment and can translate complex operational insights into actionable plans.
- Establish and lead the strategic workforce planning function for the operational division, enabling scalable growth and efficient staffing
- Develop and maintain capacity planning, demand forecasting, and scheduling models in collaboration with business intelligence teams
- Analyze operational performance and workforce trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership
- Partner with finance and product teams to align workforce planning with business objectives, budgets, and productivity goals
- Prepare and deliver presentations for senior leadership and strategic committees, highlighting trends, risks, and capacity needs
- Continuously improve workforce planning processes, governance, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment on staffing requirements, seasonal variations, and business priorities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience leading workforce management, capacity planning, or operational planning functions, ideally in healthcare or a related industry
- Proven success developing workforce planning functions for large organizations with 1,000+ personnel
- Strong analytical and business acumen, including experience with data analysis, visualization tools, and integrated forecasting models
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior and executive stakeholders
- Experience partnering cross-functionally to translate data into actionable workforce strategy
- Ability to lead through influence in a distributed, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
- Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
