Position Overview:

The ReGen 2 Unit Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, establishing guidelines and controls, and directing the activities in the Regen2 department in order to manufacture and ship products to customers in a safe, economical and timely manner.

What you will be doing:

  • Actively promote HSE initiatives (PHA, PSM, RMP, BBS, ISO, RC, training, etc.), with responsibility for PSM and RMP compliance. Emphasis is on life critical permitting, management of change, prevention of incident recurrence, training, SOP’s, PHA risk closures, and annual PSM plans.
  • Motivate and foster a work environment of continual improvement to increase production, improve quality, optimize resources, maintain reliability, and eliminate waste
  • Participate on site team to establish and track resource needs to effectively operate site (financial controls, long range plan, etc.)
  • Key participant in employee selection, career plan development, and training.
  • Provide miscellaneous leadership such as rotating duty supervisor, field observations, maintenance permitting audits, shutdown and startup support, T/A support/participation in other units/sites (as needed), qualified on all unit positions - strike support, etc.
  • Compliance with Regen2-centric regulatory topics
  • Ensure Regen2 personnel understand their role and perform to standard in their jobs.
  • Participate in yearly generation of Regen2 budget, including Turnarounds. Primary contributions include significant work scopes, planned catalyst spending, personnel changes, planned T&E such as safety meeting lunches and ONE.
  • Optimize assets and work processes to reduce costs, increase OEE and reduce risk through activity like RCFA, TA planning, SUMO
  • Metrics as needed to drive improvement and report status on key indicators, such as the weekly Regen2 Manager Report
  • Day to day management of the Bargaining Agreement within Regen2, primarily around issues such as scheduling, OT, vacation, grievances at the first step, and qualification.
  • Timely, clear and concise communication to appropriate parties on relevant topics, such as important HSE incidents, downtime or restrictions, high-cost events, personnel problems, capital needs, and TA plans and execution.
  • Project engineering support/review on new project design and unit implementation; small CAPEX project management
  • Work with other area managers to determine production needs and impacts. Examples include balancing TS and sulfur with spent, oleum balance, and utilities such as air, nitrogen, steam, etc
  • Complete various current specific goals which could be assigned on an annual or other basis and would likely relate to specific improvement needs in an above area.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • Min of 7 plus years of union plant experience.
  • Sulfuric acid plant or continuous chemical plant experience.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety and Personnel Safety.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be have prior leadership experience.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, SAP required.
