About This Position

Position Summary:

The Inventory Controller maintains industry standards in all aspects of inventory. The responsibilities of the Inventory Controller include overseeing inventory control, managing deliveries, inspecting inventory and maintaining inventory records. In addition, the role will be responsible for ensuring all products are procured at the lowest possible cost, all stock is maintained in a consistent manner, and to maintain and keep records of all goods that are received and shipments made. He or she will be responsible for verifying the cost of products and ensuring that all invoices are properly posted to the accounting department. Additionally, the role requires that you conduct frequent spot and partial audits of the physical inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseas daily counting and auditing of physical inventory
  • Receipts and verify cost of products and ensure invoices are posted properly to accounting
  • Occasionally operates a forklift truck if needed
  • Ensures product is procured at the lowest possible cost within the parameters of urgency
  • Works with multiple computer-based inventory management systems
  • Monitors manufacturers' dealer managed inventory objectives to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Maintain consistent stock inventory, ordering new stock up to the pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles
  • Establish and maintain backup source for high-demand items
  • Assess inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery
  • Provide inventory reports for management
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with vendors
  • Maintain accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made
  • Manage and maintain inventory system
  • Post invoices into business systems
  • Conduct frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory
  • Serve as a liaison between Parts and Accounting departments
  • Operate a forklift truck when necessary
  • Perform any other related duties as requested
