The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and analyze healthcare data to support cost management, provider performance, and plan optimization for Hospitality health plans. This role produces key reports, identifies trends related to utilization and cost, and supports strategic decision-making through detailed analytics and plan mapping across multiple dimensions. The Analytics Specialist will have a dotted line reporting to the Sr. Director of Healthcare Analytics.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Prepare and maintain the Weekly High-Cost Claims Report, including analysis, review, and identification of emerging cost drivers
- Develop and distribute Fair Care Reports to monitor compliance, access, and utilization trends
- Perform provider analytics to evaluate provider performance, network utilization, and cost patterns
- Conduct low-cost option research and analysis to identify alternative providers, services, and network solutions
- Create and maintain plan mapping by state, city, plan type, employee counts, provider networks, and union affiliations
- Analyze trends and patterns related to claims, utilization, access, and costs, and provide actionable insights
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Vendor Management, Managed Care, and Leadership, to support cost containment and network strategies
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data, reports, and analytics deliverables
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and data presentations as needed

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Years of Experience and Knowledge
- 3 ~ 5 years of direct experience in healthcare analytics minimum
- Working knowledge and experience in industry coding (revenue codes, ICD 9 classifications, CPT codes, etc.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience in a hospital or managed care environment with a focus on claims data analysis, provider contracting or decision support, especially in cost and utilization analysis
Education, Licenses, and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, healthcare administration, business, statistics, or related field or equivalent work experience required
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
- 10% ~ 15% travel
