POSITION SUMMARY:
Cleveland Wheel and Brake Systems (CWBS) provides aircraft braking systems and key system components including wheels, brakes, and hydraulic components for the general aviation, turboprop, business jet, rotorcraft and military markets. At Cleveland Wheel and Brake Systems, the Maintenance III is a member of the Production organization and is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance and repair jobs for internal or external facilities. Providing support and assistance for maintenance, production, office and outside contractors, as well as perform a wide variety of complex plant and equipment maintenance and repairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Embrace the safety culture by working safely, engaging with the safety team, following safe operating procedures and OSHA regulations, wearing proper PPE, identifying and correcting potential safety hazards and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
· Perform regular preventive maintenance on CNC machines, equipment and plant facilities under the supervision of experienced team members.
· Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties including, but not limited to, welder, drill press, cutoff saw, band saw, ammeter, volt-ohm meter, and computers.
· Accurate and on-time completion of any required work orders, reports, logs, etc. utilizing a work order management system.
· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to higher-level maintenance team members and proper supervision.
· Perform maintenance and repair work to repair, maintain, and enhance buildings, facilities, machines and equipment requiring a complete knowledge of general trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with and perform repairs and maintenance work.
· Experience and training in operating industrial trucks and material handling equipment. Perform work to rig, move, repair and erect machine tools and equipment, either new or existing.
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, isolate and correct mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubles to involve repairs and replacements of CNC machines, controls, motors, switches, devices and gears, etc. Consult with support technicians and make emergency repairs when necessary to offset excessive downtime and production delays.
· Proceed on assignments with minimum supervision and guidance, maintain a high degree of quality, quantity and safety, as well as a clean work area.
· Assist in the coordination of service vendors and contractors to conduct repairs when necessary.
· Inspect safety systems (emergency lights, fire extinguishers), and schedule repairs when needed.
· Experience and training in operating industrial trucks (tow motors) and material handling equipment (forklifts).
· Train, share knowledge and assist other team members. Sets positive example for problem-solving, conflict resolution, work ethic and dependability.
· Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing proper safety equipment and following procedures. Proactively identify and take corrective action or eliminate unsafe behaviors and conditions.
· Keep work areas clean and organized for self and others daily.
Requirements:Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Status required.
- 5 years of machine repair, field service and/or maintenance preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and to be a participative team player.
- Must demonstrate effective relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
- Read complex mechanical, basic electrical schematics and blueprints. Working knowledge of digital logic.
- Electrical, welding fabricating of metals, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry experience.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Safety knowledge of working with high voltage equipment.
- Ability to operate milling machine, surface grinder and saws.
- Responsible for continuous learning or education required to maintain proficiency in job skills knowledge.
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
