REQUIREMENTThe Associate Director of Advanced Concepts will lead the Advanced Concepts Branch within the ARCTOS Propulsion & Flight Technologies Department. This individual will serve as a visionary leader, technical expert, and strategic manager, driving the exploration, simulation, and evaluation of advanced aerospace solutions to meet current and future mission needs. The role requires a balance of technical acumen, leadership, and collaboration (both internal and external) to steer the organization (to include ARCTOS and its parent company DCS Corporation) to be a recognized leader and trusted partner for advanced concepts development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENTPrimary work environment is a standard office setting.
TRAVELOccasional local or overnight travel as needed, will preformed be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership and Vision -- Position the organization as the "go-to" leader for exploration and evaluation of advanced warfighting concepts. Develop and execute a strategic vision for the branch, aligning with organizational goals and emerging defense needs.
- Integrated Analytics Development -- Provide "end-to-end" integrated analytics encompassing individual technologies, components, subsystems, platforms, and weapons, combined with concepts of operations (CONOPS) and relevant warfighting metrics to guide development of advanced solutions.
- Concepts Library Development-- Drive the development and fielding of a "future blue" advanced warfighting concept and vision system library. This could lead to the creation of an open, extensible product within the U.S. defense community, available on multiple networks and able to be integrated with mission engineering (ME) and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) frameworks.
- Use Case Solutioneering -- Develop pioneering use cases that demonstrate the utility of advanced concepts to address complex warfighting challenges. Focus on robust and unconventional technological approaches to address real-world mission challenges requiring near-term to long-term solutions.
- Large-Scale Combinatorial Exploration -- Establish and lead efforts in large-scale combinatorial exploration of platform/subsystem designs and strike package configurations for mission-based roadmaps with consideration to technological capability, systems availability, and tactical environment.
- Research and Development Leadership – Lead R&D initiatives (including Principal Investigator for select projects), ensuring technical excellence and alignment with organizational goals. Recommend and oversee relevant internal research and development (IRAD) investments, as appropriate.
- Workforce Development and Collaboration -- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and analysts. Foster collaboration and partnerships across the company, industry, government, and academia to advance the organization's mission.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in defense science and technology (leadership inside AFRL desired).
- Direct experience in modeling and simulation of aerospace systems at component through mission level.
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field (PhD desired).
- U.S. citizen with active DoD security clearance (TS/SCI desired).
