Job Title: Teardown Technician

Job Overview:

The Asbestos Abatement Teardown Technician is responsible for safely assisting in the removal, cleanup, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials from residential, commercial, and industrial sites. This role is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance to protect the health of workers and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform asbestos abatement tasks including demolition, removal, and cleanup of hazardous materials.
• Set up and maintain proper containment areas, negative air machines, and decontamination units.
• Follow work plans and instructions from the Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Properly handle, bag, label, and transport asbestos-containing materials for disposal.
• Always maintain a clean and safe job site.
• Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly (respirator, suits, gloves, etc.).
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, and state/local asbestos regulations.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Valid Asbestos Worker Certification (per state/federal requirements).
• 1+ year experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, or construction preferred (training available).
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (lifting, bending, working in confined spaces).
• Strong commitment to safety and following directions.
• Must pass medical surveillance, drug screening, and fit testing requirements.
• Reliable transportation to job sites.
