About This Position
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Marketing department’s digital marketing efforts to drive attendance and help the museum fulfill its mission of advancing the public understanding of organized crime’s history and impact on American society. This position will assist with the development, execution, and monitoring of email marketing campaigns, advertising and promotions, digital content creation, website updates and analytics, surveys, and market research.
Requirements:Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Assist in planning, executing, and tracking digital campaigns — including email marketing, advertising and promotions, , website updates, surveys and market research.
· Help craft, schedule, and analyze email marketing campaigns to the Museum’s database.
· Maintain the health and growth of the Museum’s email database and segmented lists.
· Monitor and report on digital KPIs and recommend optimizations.
· Help develop, maintain and report on ongoing and special promotions
· Facilitate post-visit guest surveys and create ongoing reports to key stakeholders.
· Conduct market research to inform marketing and promotions strategy.
· Update the Museum’s website with new events, promotions, blogs, visitor information and all other content as needed.
· Help maintain the accuracy of the Museum’s listings across business listings, updating hours and information as needed.
· Monitor review sites and craft guest responses as needed.
· Collaborate across departments to develop and gather creative assets, messaging, and approvals.
· Utilize AI and automations where applicable to maximize efficiency and improve campaign performance and reporting.
· Edit, proofread, and adapt copy to align with brand tone across all platforms.
· Provide occasional support for event photography, digital logistics, and administrative tasks, such as creating meeting agendas and notes, compiling receipts and project management.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications / Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field; or equivalent experience.
· 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally within cultural, nonprofit, or tourism sectors.
· Solid understanding of email marketing tools, social media platforms, CMS (e.g. Wordpress), and SEO tools and fundamentals (e.g. Google Search Console, Ahrefs).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) preferred.
· Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; detail oriented.
· Ability to work in fast-paced environment, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
· Creative mindset with data-informed decision-making skills.
