About This Position
About the Role:
The Order Picker at our Stone Yard plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer. This position involves selecting, preparing, and organizing stone products and related materials according to specific order requirements, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will contribute to efficient inventory management by accurately tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies. Working closely with Inside Sales team, the Order Picker helps streamline operations to meet delivery schedules and customer expectations. Ultimately, this role supports the overall supply chain by ensuring that orders are processed correctly and dispatched promptly, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret order sheets and product specifications.
- Experience in Customer Service
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy stone materials safely.
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying order quantities.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role
- Previous experience in the landscape or stone industry
- Certification or training in operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and prepare stone products and materials based on order specifications.
- Inspect products for quality and report any damages or inconsistencies.
- Organize and stage orders for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and report stock discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with Manager and Inside Sales personnel to coordinate order fulfillment and delivery schedules.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required.

The required skills enable the Order Picker to accurately interpret order details and handle physical tasks essential to the role, such as lifting and moving heavy stone products safely. Attention to detail is critical for verifying product quality and ensuring orders are fulfilled correctly, which directly impacts customer satisfaction. Familiarity with safety protocols helps maintain a secure work environment, reducing the risk of accidents. Preferred skills, such as operating forklifts and using inventory management software, enhance efficiency and streamline daily operations.
