About This Position
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer – DevOps Platform in United States.
This role sits at the heart of a modern infrastructure engineering organization responsible for building and operating the platforms that power large-scale production systems across data centers and cloud environments. You will work in a highly automation-driven DevOps culture, blending software engineering with Linux systems expertise to improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. The environment emphasizes ownership, observability, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on building internal tools that abstract away infrastructure complexity. You will contribute to both physical infrastructure and cloud-native systems, helping ensure critical services remain stable and performant. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will influence architecture decisions and operational strategy. You will also collaborate closely with other engineers to evolve how infrastructure is built, deployed, and managed end-to-end.
- Design, build, and maintain automation systems that support infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management across data center and cloud environments.
- Develop and enhance internal tools and services to improve engineering productivity and enable end-to-end system ownership for development teams.
- Operate and support mission-critical Linux-based systems, including troubleshooting production incidents and participating in on-call rotations.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, contribute to postmortems, and implement long-term reliability and resilience improvements.
- Manage and optimize core infrastructure components such as databases, containerized services, and supporting platforms.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key decisions shaping infrastructure evolution and platform strategy.
- Support hardware and infrastructure operations in physical data centers, including occasional on-site involvement when required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience building production-grade software in languages such as Go, Java, or similar.
- Strong experience administering, troubleshooting, and operating Linux systems in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to design and operate distributed systems in mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, including automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a strong desire to learn and mentor peers.
- Competitive compensation package including base salary ($145,000 – $185,000 USD), equity, and discretionary bonus.
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan.
- Generous paid time off, parental leave, and wellness reimbursements.
- Professional development support and career growth opportunities, including mentorship and structured onboarding.
- Flexible, modern engineering environment focused on ownership and impact.
- Additional employee perks including investing discounts and wellness programs.
