Lifeguard II at Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County – West Park, Florida

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lifeguard II to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong swimming skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to provide exceptional guest services. As a Lifeguard II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of all pool patrons while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all Club members and staff.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of the pool area, including water quality testing and equipment checks.
• Perform pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning and chemical reading.
• Assist in training and supervising junior lifeguards and staff members.
• Provide excellent guest services to parents by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
• Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions to stay current on emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications are a plus.
• Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform rescues effectively.
• Experience in pool maintenance and cleaning is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as needed for maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on guest services.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a related role is highly desirable.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
