About the role
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-driven individual to join our Trading team as a Middle & Back Office Trading Associate. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the operational core that supports Félix’s FX Trading desk, ensuring trade integrity, accurate post-trade processes, and effective coordination across teams. You will work closely with the Head of Trading, CFO, and Traders to build scalable systems, maintain controls, and support a growing trading operation. You’ll act as a bridge between the Trading and Finance teams, owning core operational workflows while actively supporting trade execution, reconciliation, and financial reporting.This is a remote-first position open to global candidates.

Responsibilities
1. Middle Office Ownership & Trade Support

• Monitor and reconcile FX spot, forwards, and crypto-settled OTC trades across internal records and external platforms (custodians, venues, LPs).
• Maintain, update, and rigorously validate trade booking data in Google Sheets, BigQuery, and Notion.
• Assist the Head of Trading with position, P&L, and exposure reconciliations across custodians and liquidity providers.
• Own daily EOD checks, including cash balance updates, trade matching, and valuation sanity checks.
• Track fees, slippage, and spreads across trading venues; flag anomalies and assist in issue resolution.

2. Back Office Processes & Controls

• Own and coordinate all post-trade settlement steps, including settlement instruction, ensure timely confirmations, and troubleshoot breaks or mismatches.
• Maintain and improve documentation of internal trading controls, procedures, and reconciliations.
• Support the CFO’s Finance team in weekly flash reports & month-end close with precise reporting of trading balances, mark-to-markets, and realized gains/losses.
• Liaise with Engineering teams as needed to ensure systems produce accurate logs and consistent audit trails.

3. Process Improvement & Team Enablement

• Identify and help implement process automations, improved dashboards, or scalable workflows across the trade lifecycle.
• Track recurring pain points and propose tooling or playbook improvements to reduce error rates and manual work.
• Assist in onboarding new trading partners, custodians, or settlement workflows by documenting and pressure-testing operational steps.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a Trading Operations, Middle Office, or Fund Operations role, ideally at a fund, asset manager, or broker.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including execution, booking, confirmation, and settlement.
• Fluency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets), and ability to work with large data sets. Bonus if familiar with SQL, Notion, or Python.
• Familiarity with reconciliation tooling, trade booking systems, or middle office automations.
• Extreme attention to detail, especially in high-stakes or time-sensitive reconciliations.
• Ability to maintain strong async communication and coordination in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting FX desks with OTC and/or partner-executed flow.
• Solid proficiency with market concepts, especially surrounding FX and FX derivatives
• Experience interfacing with internal Engineering teams or building processes that interact with automated trading infrastructure is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of stablecoin custody, USDC settlement, and crypto-to-fiat rails a plus.
• Comfort navigating both institutional and crypto-native trading environments.Comfort working in a high-trust, high-autonomy startup environment.

These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
