Upon successful completion of the CPAT trials, all who qualify will be invited to participate in an EMS skills assessment and a panel interview with the CFD. Once all steps of the process have been successfully completed, an eligibility list will be established.
A background investigation, pre-employment physical/drug screen, and polygraph examination are required once a conditional offer of employment has been made.

Position Summary
As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you’ll train in and assist with emergency response, including firefighting, advanced pre-hospital medical care, and public safety services. You’ll play a vital role in protecting the community by responding to fires, accidents, natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, and medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Train for and assist with firefighting operations – both interior and exterior.
- Provide advanced life support (ALS) and pre-hospital emergency medical care to the sick or injured.
- Transport patients safely to medical facilities for continued care.
- Assist with fire suppression, rescue, and hazardous materials mitigation.
- Maintain and inspect equipment, apparatus, and station facilities.
- Complete accurate and timely logs, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs in fire and EMS services.
- Support other operational tasks such as data entry, inventory, and communications.
Minimum Requirements
