About This Position
Schedule/Hours:
This is an In-Person Full Time Position consisting of 5 8-hour day shifts with periodic weekend work. The position is expected to work weekly from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to achieve a total of 40 work hours.
Pay :?$16.25 - $18.25 per hour
Job Summary:?The Baler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of baling equipment to compact and bundle recyclable or waste materials for storage, shipment, or disposal. This role ensures materials are processed according to company standards while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Operate baler machines and related equipment according to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Load materials (such as cardboard, paper, plastics, or other recyclables) into the baler.
- Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and report malfunctions to maintenance or supervision.
- Organization of finished bales; bind, label, and stack for storage or transport
- Keep accurate records and required documentation
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Other duties may be assigned as directed
Competencies:
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (utilize PPE, follow safety procedures, etc.)
- Ability to be analytical; use logical reasoning to efficiently make decisions and solve issues
- Competent English speaking, writing, and reading skills
- Competent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to complete written reports legibly and accurately
- Strong time management skills (adhere to scheduling, arrive on time, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Forklift Experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time; reach for tools with hands and arms; kneel or crouch; and talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The employee must be able to see up close and at a distance as well as use peripheral vision and depth perception to be able to find, read, and complete necessary documentation. Employees must have the ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture, and dirty environments.
