According to established policies and procedures, conducts special cleaning and disinfecting of assigned areas of the hospital that are required to be sterile, assuring a clean and dust/lint-free environment.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Clean and disinfect operating rooms, Cath lab, C-section rooms, Special Procedures, and Pharmacy Compounding areas.
2. Remove all trash, dirty linen, biohazard, pharmaceutical waste, and sharps from designated areas.
3. Maintain cleanliness and stock in assigned restrooms, including hoppers, shields, and scrub sink areas.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor based on departmental needs.
5. Damp wipe all horizontal surfaces with hospital-approved EPA-registered disinfectant; change cloths and pads after each room.
6. Follow safety rules and operate cleaning equipment safely; report hazards and equipment issues.
7. Perform OR room turnover, including cleaning the table, equipment, and mopping floors.
Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:
1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
5. Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
6. Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
7. Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
• Frequent to Constant Activities: Standing, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, repetitive movements, precise motor skills, hearing, and vision.
• Occasional Activities: Climbing, working at heights.
• Never Required: Sitting, crawling, working outdoors, working in temperature extremes.
