Job Description
Essential Purpose: The Head Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and machinery. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to ensuring that all equipment operates at peak performance, enhancing the overall quality of the golf course.
Essential Duties:
- To satisfactorily complete all daily assignments as directed, including preventative maintenance, random safety checks, and service requests.
- To supervise and train mechanics and Golf Course Maintenance team members in best practices for equipment care and safety.
- To organize daily priority lists and assign responsibilities as needed to the Assistant Golf Course Mechanic.
- To keep accurate inspection and service records for each individual Golf Maintenance machine.
- To requisition from purchasing, repair and replacement parts, as needed.
- To secure Golf Maintenance equipment and property against damage or theft.
- To ensure proper set-up and preparation of new and existing equipment.
- To communicate all guest requests to an appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
- To utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
- To lead, manage and motivate the Golf Course Maintenance team.
- To promote & comply with all policies and procedures of Temecula Creek Inn
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others, including the safe operation of all power-driven machinery.
- To ensure safe work practices of all Golf Course Maintenance staff, including compliance with company and departmental safety rules and regulations and the proper use and handling of all relevant equipment and machinery.
- To attend all mandatory meetings, as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Knowledge + Education: Able to read, write, and speak English. Must have minimum two years experience as golf course mechanic. Experienced in the use, maintenance, and repair of all relevant tools and equipment. Able to read and interpret manuals and parts lists, and to discuss equipment with vendors to ensure proper ordering.

Physical Demands: Stands/walks approximately 80% of shift. Sits, kneels, or stoops approximately 20% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs. over short distances. Bends, stoops, reaches, and lifts to perform routine job tasks. Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate power driven machinery. Must be able to withstand prolonged exposure to sun.
