This role is a senior EHS leadership position responsible for shaping and scaling national environmental, health, and safety programs across a fast-growing, multi-site organization. You will define and execute the overall EHS strategy, ensuring consistent compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence across field and facility operations nationwide. Acting as both a strategic leader and hands-on operator, you will partner with cross-functional teams to embed safety into daily operations and decision-making. The role has high visibility, directly influencing organizational safety culture, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity. You will lead incident investigations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthen contractor and vendor EHS performance. - Lead and manage the national EHS program, defining strategy, governance, and execution standards across all domestic sites while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational alignment.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and improve safety performance across operations and field activities.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (including OSHA and EPA requirements).
- Oversee incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence.
- Manage EHS documentation systems, reporting processes, and recordkeeping standards across internal teams and subcontractors.
- Guide injured worker programs, claims management, and restricted duty processes to ensure safe and compliant return-to-work practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing safety systems, vendor accountability, and overall EHS program maturity.
This role requires a seasoned EHS professional with strong program leadership and technical regulatory expertise, combined with the ability to influence across large, distributed organizations. Candidates should bring strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience translating complex compliance requirements into scalable operational programs.
- 7+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety roles within corporate or industrial environments.
- 7+ years of experience in program or project management, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, and related federal/state/local frameworks).
- Experience managing national or multi-site EHS programs with diverse operational footprints.
- Proven ability to work with vendors and contractors to improve safety performance and ensure accountability.
- Strong incident investigation skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage field teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, Occupational Health, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CSP or CIH are a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% nationally.
